The Bombs Fell

The Death of Waddington Church

I now lie crushed and broken,

No one will see me more,

So many people stand and look,

The rich as well as the poor.

I know they all feel sorry

To see me rent and torn,

But some day I will rise again;

A new Church will be born.

My spirit will be in that Church,

Whenever it is made,

And God will bless the old and new,

Although I low be laid.

Some day the bells will ring out clear,

The clock the time will tell,

And peace will come to this sad world,

And whisper “All is well”.
